ClamWin is not integrated with Windows Security Center, as it is still considered beta software. When Version 1.0 (release date unknown) becomes available, it should be integrated/registered with Security Center then.

Because ClamWin is still in beta and does not yet have a real-time/on-access scanner, it is best used as a backup scanner. Free on-access scanners are available: Avast (Alwil), AVG, and Antivir (Avira). An equally good option is to use ClamWin with a behavior blocker--both ThreatFire (PC Tools) and WinPatrol (BillP Studios) are available in free versions and make a good complement to ClamWin. ThreatFire is integrated with Windows Security Center.

Hello,

Since Clamwin is an on demand scanner it is still not recognised by windows Security Center; this will be solved once the real time feature will be implemented (though no expected release date is scheduled right now). Therefore you should use Clamwin as a backup av and have a resident (=real time) av installed. Amongst free ones you may choose Avira Antivir, AVG free, Avast (all free for personal, non commercial use). You may install one of them beside Clamwin (no conflicts will arise as Clamwin is not resident up to now); don't install two or more real time av tools on same machine, thus to avoid conflict between them.

As a second option, Threatfire may be used as integration to an existing av; this is recognised by Windows Security Centre.

Regards,
Antonio
