Hi hope someone can help,

My Clamav scan has come up with 2 infections found.

C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/rwhkisyd.default/Mail/Local Folders/Inbox: Email.Phishing.Pay-8 FOUND
C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/rwhkisyd.default/Mail/Local Folders/Trash: Email.Phishing.Pay-8 FOUND
ERROR: Can't open file C:/Documents and Settings/Administrator/Local Settings/Temp/~DF9042.tmp
ERROR: Can't open file C:/hiberfil.sys
ERROR: Can't open file C:/pagefile.sys

How do i get rid of these?? I have tried to go to the infected file to delete it cant find it. I have deleted all spam emails so i am sure by inbox and subsequent mail folders are clean.

I have clamwin set to move infected files to the quarantine folder but i still get these issues on scan.

Can anyone help?

there is an option that avoid moving / deleting thunderbird mailboxes (since this can cause trash in the profile)
As I see emails are in trash, you may need to empty / compact folder on tb trash

try compacting your thunderbird folders. when you delete an email in TB it doesn't always delete it but may only remove a reference to it in the index. Right click on your inbox and thrash folders and click compact

close thunderbird, backup your profile folder and try to delete trash mailbox, it should recreate it, if you get problems revert to backed up

How about configuring ClamWin to move anything it finds to the quarrantine folder? This should put the affected file in the quarrantine folder, and you can see where the virus is then.

Regards,
