Is ClamWin free antivirus is legit. I mean, is it more like Norton or avast? I just don't want to install "free " antivirus, and then I won't be able to remove it from my pc.

You will never have any problem removing ClamWin from your computer. Just uninstall it by right clicking the ClamWin program in the program list under the Windows Control Panel. I have probably done this hundreds of times with no problems. ClamWin has no program "hooks" like some other antivirus programs.
However, ClamWin is not a real-time scanner--it scans on-demand as you have scheduled it to or when you do a manual scan. The ClamWin developers recommend that you use it as backup to a real-time scanner. ClamWin uses a Windows port of the Clam AV Linux scanner for email servers.

Thank you for your reply. I will check it. Thank's really nice that "it scans on-demand as you have scheduled it to or when you do a manual scan".

The Clam AV code used by ClamWin works well for email services, which have files that are never run by the email serivce, but if you are a Windows user with a computer that cruises the world wide web, then it does not give you protection from web sites, drive-by downloads, and automated script-based malware. For that, you need an antivirus that protects your computer in real-time. Use one, and keep ClamWin as a backup in case the real-time AV misses something.
