there is an option that avoid moving / deleting thunderbird mailboxes (since this can cause trash in the profile)
As I see emails are in trash, you may need to empty / compact folder on tb trash |

There is nothing in the inbox or on the trash folder!
This is the issue, i cannot find the infection to be able to delete it! G |

try compacting your thunderbird folders. when you delete an email in TB it doesn't always delete it but may only remove a reference to it in the index. Right click on your inbox and thrash folders and click compact

close thunderbird, backup your profile folder and try to delete trash mailbox, it should recreate it, if you get problems revert to backed up

go to e.g. c:\documents and settings\_yourusername_\application data and copy elsewhere tunderbird directory
to restore remove the dir and put back the backed one |

How about configuring ClamWin to move anything it finds to the quarrantine folder? This should put the affected file in the quarrantine folder, and you can see where the virus is then.
