Clamav and thunderbird in Ubuntu 10.04

Dear All,

I have just installed Ubuntu Netbook edition 10.04 and I am using Thunderbird for emails. I am a newbi on linux. I would like to make clamav to scan incoming and outgoing emails. So I have isntalled clamav and clamyk ofr graphcal use, after that I don't know what to do.

I would be grateful if someone would kindly show a step by step tutorial on how to make clamav scan my emails.
