-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 294912 Mar 21 12:02 bytecode.cld
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 61588 Feb 17 08:35 bytecode.cvd
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 8346112 Mar 21 12:02 daily.cld
-rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav 2358099 Feb 17 08:35 daily.cvd
-rw-r--r-- 1 clamav clamav 30750647 Feb 17 08:35 main.cvd

I am confused here.

Can someone please explain what we are looking at here?

bytecode.cld was updated on Mar21?
bytecode.cvd was updated on Feb17?
daily.cld was updated on Mar21?
daily.cvd was updated on Feb 17?
main.cvd was updated on Feb17?

Whats the difference between bytecode.cld and bytecode.cvd
Whats the difference between daily.cld and daily.cvd

Thanks

Where the hell is that from ? A GNU/Linux ?

You might want to take a look at that post.

Let me suggest that you delete all files in your ClamWin database folder but leave the folder empty. Then open/run ClamWin and update the database (if it does not ask if you want to update). I think everything will be okay after that.

Then I would suggest to keep this one, since it’s up-to-date.
(current main.cvd file size is 30 750 647 bytes, version is 54)

On that Unix machine/partition, ClamAV has been installed on February 17 2012, 08:35 and its database has been last updated on March 21 2012, 12:02. But please correct me if I’m wrong, GuitarBob.

I think you are right! I've never used Clam AV on Linux, but, on second glance, it sure doesn't look like a Windows reference. We can't help much here on the ClamWin (for Windows) forums.
