Bulletproof FTP shows as a virus....but it isn't....

I definitely like Clamwin portable because I'm a network/systems analyst and a number of the servers I work on I can't install software but being able to run an anti-virus scan from a flash drive is a great thing.

The problem I have is that we use BulletProof FTP and ClamWin files it as a trojan in memory and unloads it, and also finds it as a virus in a file scan. No other anti-virus sees it as a virus and I have checked to make sure we have a good copy of the application.

Most anti-virus apps let me add excusions, or report as false positive. How do I do this and can you add bulletproof to good files?

Thanks.

You can exclude files or directories from ClamWin's normal scans via the ClamWin configuration, filters, exclude matching filenames option (left side of the filters tab). Check the square block to go to the bottom of the list, fill in the filename.extension and then OK it.

To cure the false positive for good, you should upload a copy of the file to Clam AV at http://www.clamav.net/lang/en/sendvirus/ on the web. When you get to the upload page, check the false positive designation and give them the exact name in the comments section. Clam AV will adjust the signature withing a couple of days, and ClamWin will get the update. Then you can remove the file from the exclusion filters.

Regards
